Command syntax conventions
command / keyword The first word is always a command. Keywords are words that must be
entered as is. Commands and keywords are mandatory.
For example, the command,
RFController>show wlan 1
is documented as
show wlan <idx>
where:
• show – The command
• wlan – The keyword
<variable> Variables are described with a short description enclosed within a ‘<‘
and a ‘>’ pair.
For example, the command,
RFController>show wlan 1
is documented as
show wlan <idx>
where:
• show – The command – Display information.
• wlan – The keyword – The wlan
• <idx> – The variable – WLAN Index value.
| The pipe symbol. This is used to separate the variables/keywords in a
list.
For example, the command
RFController> show .....
is documented as
show [autoinstall|banner|ip|ldap|......]
where:
• set – The command
• [autoinstall|banner|ip|ldap|......] – Indicates the different
commands that can be combined with the show command.
However, only one of the above list can be used at a time.
show autoinstall ...
show banner ...
show ip ...
show ldap ...
[ ] Of the different keywords and variables listed inside a ‘[‘ & ‘]’ pair, only
one can be used. Each choice in the list is separated with a ‘|’ (pipe)
symbol.
For example, the command
RFController> clear ...
is documented as
clear [crypto|mobility|spanning-tree]
where:
• clear – The command
• [crypto|mobility|spanning-tree] – Indicates that three keywords
are available for this command and only one can be used at a time
